My last movement pleasure series was so fun I decided to do it again! Introducing Feeling Into Pleasure 2: 6 class series and free awareness through movement intro class!
The free class is Wednesday, April 28th. From there the paid series starts May 5th till June 9th. The classes are always on Wednesdays at 8pm.
This series will still focus on finding movement pleasure. We will focus on one specific movement, but divide it into 7 separate classes so each student can find their own comfort and pleasure in their movement. The series is based on coming from laying on the side to laying on the back and returning to the side, in one easy simple flow. Each class will be focused on a specific part of the whole movement.
The free Movement Pleasure lesson will be about bringing the shoulders and pelvis forward and back on the side. The next lesson will be focused on getting the hip to move independently. After that, we will continue with the first lesson, simply trying to make it easier to get to the back and the side. The third lesson will help to incorporate the head and neck into the whole movement. The fourth is another continuation of the first lesson, simply perfecting it and making it pleasurable. The last two lessons on the same theme, but incorporating some twisting movements which help clarify the movement from back to side.
→ In these Awareness Through Movement classes, I verbally lead you through a sequence of movements all laying down on your back. These precisely structured movement explorations involve thinking, sensing, moving and feeling. By increasing awareness, you will learn to abandon habitual patterns of movement and develop new alternatives, resulting in improved flexibility and coordination, less pain, more comfort. It helps counter anxiety by understanding the effect on the body. It really just makes you feel taller, more grounded and relaxed – and who doesn’t want that! Doing Feldenkrais is not only for chronic symptoms or pain, it’s also used to increase skill, to open yourself up to new ideas, find choice in absence, and secure proper and easy aging! We love Movement Pleasure!
→ Many Awareness Through Movement lessons are based on developmental movements and ordinary functional activities (reaching, standing, lying to sitting, looking behind yourself, etc.). Some are based on more abstract explorations of joint, muscle, and postural relationships. Lessons are fully accessible to those with varying movement possibilities – because lessons can even work in the imagination. Sounds like magic because it is!! The magic of the brain! We love Movement Pleasure!
"I loved how Andréa offered us different movement exercises that gave me a lot of insight on how I move through the world; even if we were on zoom, I could feel their presence and kindness. They were very generous in their teaching and support during and after classes. "
